The lonely tree has become an iconic destination, a blogger’s dream, a tree standing alone on the shore, or sometimes on its own personal little island, depending on the water level.
The tree itself stands on the edge of Llyn Padarn, Llanberis, You can find it by walking into the ‘lagoons’ area of the village,The tree demands that those who come and visit it respect it, and do not climb on it, or break anything, as it really is a one of a kind tree.
In ordinary times you can expect to be fighting over a spot with other photographers, but things are usually absolutely fine, as with photography there is mutual respect and camaraderie that the pastime usually conveys.
If you get there about 45 minutes or so before sun-up (if you are dedicated enough of a photographer that is) and then shoot as the light levels build-up and the colour changes, you will be able to get yourself some fabulous photographs of this famous tree.
